well, the whole subdivision thing... Bad enough they gave me hell about having it detailed lol..

The guy that did the fiberglass work on my delorean does body work as well so I might just roll it down to his garage so we can work on it. I just need to find someone to weld my rear window channel piece in. I dont mind driving the SDL around with body work for a week. That and I need an SEC front bumper for my SEC fogs I still have laying around.

LOL, I guess that was dumb question.

Don't let them use fiberglass on the SDL.

You might want to think about putting a pre-emptive new water pump on it since you have the cooling system half apart. Not exactly sure how it is on the W115 , but the York compressor bracket makes that job a real treat on the early W123.

How about the thermostat, are you going to take that apart clean it out and put in a new thermostat. If you do be very carful taking the bolts out. I see you have the green stuff in there the thermostat housing is going to be very corroded. I have a trick for when you take it apart call me or Pierre, there are only a hand full of good thermostat housings left out there.

I had the oil cooler tested today and it didn't leak at all, thats awesome. I re-installed everything back in the car filled it up with the proper Zerex G05 coolant and it is fine, temp stays at 180 all the time. I have ordered new oil cooler lines and they should be here next Tuesday. That should be a fun job.

I discovered my valve cover gasket leaks pretty bad near the 5th injector, must have something between the seal and the mating surface.

I finally found Lubro Moly Diesel Purge at a NAPA across town for 5 bucks a can, thats cheaper than I have ever seen it.

I got a clear plastic fuel filter(doesn't have one now) and some fuel line and will be returning everything back to the stock by removing the Racor fuel filter, and the extra tank in the trunk.

My new steering coupling, tie rod ends, vacuum shutoff valve, and sway bar links should be here tomorrow.

So I replaced the drivers side rear sway bar link that was knocking. I had fell into 3 pieces.

The old:

The new:

I also fixed the vacuum lines to the engine shut off, so now it shuts off with a key, luxery. As it turns out the rubber vacuum line leaked where it connected with the hard plasitc line.

If everything is going as good as it is now, the car will be at the GTG.

I made a lot of progress today on it today, i'll post an update with some pics later.

Today I replced the steering coupling and all the tie rod ends and gave it a homemade alignment.

The steering coupling was a major PITA to replace because you have to drop the steering box and also make sure that you keep everything lined up properly so that when your steering wheel is straight the wheels are straight too. I had to move the box and coupling twice because the wheels to turned to the rightwhen the wheel was straight. The second time I got it dead center.

The tie rod ends were shot, that all had tons of play in them. I used a pickle fork and a hammer to remove them, it took at lot beating but I finally broke them loose.

The car now drives like new. I still need to replace the drag link, and subframe mounts then the front end will be done for now.

New tie rod ends

Old steering coupling, see how there is no bushing:

Sorry I haven't updated the thread lately, been pretty busy with it.

Some of you may have seen my stalling thread from last week. I replaced the fuel filters, air filter, pop tested the injectors and so far it hasn't stalled yet. One of the injectors popped at 1700, looks like it was a turbo diesel injector. So my friend gave me a good NA injector and I installed it and the nailing has gone away, thanks Pierre.

He also gave me a good used front drivers side window reg that works great, now my window works great.

Heres what was wrong with the old one
