If it's anything like my '83 SD, then you loosen the two screws and simply lift the fuse block out. It's hooked in the rear, set in place, and then screwed down in the front.

Absolutely correct! I did this on my 85 380se when I added an external 30A fuses and holder for my climate control fan motor. If you get nervous about doing this on your own car, do what I do... Got to U-Pull-It auto parts store and practice on a junked car. I did this before I performed the mod on my 85, and then I actually purchased the entire fuse box with all of the extra screws etc... for $10.00 after I removed it.

Its very easy, just as stated above. You should have plenty of free terminals and rubber wire boots that are plugged with stoppers. Run it through one the appropriate size and you're good to go. They really made it easy to wire just about anything in! My small amp/sub wiring went in like a breeze mainly due to the simplicity of the system.

Great idea! Why damage your own car?

fusebox removal

hi all and thanks for the info,i removed it for inspection, and found nothing unusual. i want to wire the aux fan with the 30A fuse kit,the #1 fuse wiring was the only one attached with plastic head and not screwed into the fuse box,i want to make sure i actually wire fuse #1 .ill try searching further here in the forum regarding that.looking under the fusebox is not for the faint of heart:).
thanks again,Eric.
