Questions about mbs with plastic bumpers.
1995 E300d Common issues? Car has clunk from rear when shifting, oil pressure goes to 0 at idle.
1987 300D 6cylinder, are these the ones with the #12 heads? 1990 300D, did they fix the heads by this point? Car is missing on cylinder, sugg?

1. my oil pressure doesn't drop to 0...that's a problem lol 2. the clunk...how many miles? i have a clunk, but it's a vacuum issue and the car is shifting really hard if i dont accelerate quickly. the vac pump needs changed in mine very soon...like now...but food comes first when money is tight. then again, it may cause it to die per some other threads, so fixing it soon is extremely important. other than that, should be nice and smooth shifting. |

1. Neither are normal nor good. Clunk could also be flex plate, and sender unit may be bad. 2. Original head was #14. #17 and up are better heads. 3. 5 cylinder heads are not as prone to problems. Jim

Post '87 5-cylnder heads are good, early 5-cylinder heads are the same as the early 6-cylinder heads.
