W123 Climate Control - Re-solder where?
I got the Climate Control Unit out using the DIY listed on this website. However, I am unclear what to actually re-solder. Do I do every point on this circuit board? The article references to 're-solder where the three connectors meet' but I do not see any junction like this. Any help in the right direction will really help.
Thanks Doug |
As long as you are in there, might as well resolder every junction you can reach. Any solder joint could be a cold solder joint so you might as well do all of them. Be careful to not add so much extra solder that you cause a short-circuit by jumping pads and don't use any hotter a soldering iron than necessary.
In the case of my '85, it had some very poorly done repairs (by a PO) after a frozen aux water pump caused several pc board traces to fry. I rebuilt the board and it has worked perfectly since. Jeremy |

I'm not sure of the three connectors either, but check all solder points.
In the pic is a circle of one I re-soldered, in the lower circle, I drew a black circle to represent a crack. |

Thanks. I also found this very good write up.
