Exclamation Bye Bye LoveXrap on my car!

Well I took off the LoveXrap kit today and spliced back the two coolant lines and that the kit tied into. topped off the coolant with Zetek G-5, along with replacing the kits heat exchanger with a new spin-on fuel filter.

The car runs so much better now, as before it ran like it had a fuel starvation problem. If someone wants to buy the LoveXrap kit it is for sale, BUT, only if the car it is going on is high mileage, multi-owner, with terminal cancer (rust) and is lives in a warm winter climate!!!

Thank God you removed that. Hopefully it didn't damage the engine to bad.

I second that, now if only the other people with that system will join you!

Well see, as when I bought the car in January it was advertised as having a dead cylinder (paid $1300), but the previous owner never did a valve adjustment, it had the old style damper bolt. I have adjusted the valves, ran a diesel purge, replaced the damper bolt, injectors and return lines and it ran better! It runs even better that the LoveDeath is off the car. I'm going to readjust the valves next week and check the compression to see if in fact there is a problem? The car start right up, but when I 1st got it and after my 1st tank of 99 Biodiesel it smoked a little 1st thing in the morning. But, doesn't use much oil 2,500 miles to a quart.

The previous owner had the injectors cleaned and popped when she put the LoveXrap kit on the car so they only had about 20,000, but they were coked up like no tomorrow! I was surprised it ran at all!

I salute you for saving that car, it looks to be in very nice shape! Who knows how many (nice) examples of these cars have been driven a while then junked because of the LoveCrap system. Its terrible.

This sound great, saved another one.

WVO might be good for some people, but not for me. I seen quite a few MB`s at PNP that have been on WVO, and one with the Lovexrap system still on it. every one of them have been beat to heck, and have rancid VO in the trunk and engine compartment.

Also see a few with the Biodiesel stickers on them and also beat and run into the ground, and maintenance? what`s that?

I think there is a different mentality that goes along with this. Iam generalising here, so don`t flame me on this one. I know not every one is in this catagory, but I see so much of it.

Yeah, the car is very clean, no rust, all the electrics work (ok the cruise control is missing the stalk on the steering column) A/C climate control works great even on a 110 degree day, it starts right up, is very tight and great to drive! So I know it was well worth saving as it had a lot of things going for it. I figure even if I have to put another engine in it, it is worth it to me and no payments either!

You bought a car that needed a lot of maintaince.

With a fuel system that had been extreamly modified.

It gave you problems.

And your blaming veggie fuel.

-------------

Maybe it was the lack of repair and the cobbled fuel system.

Not the veggie !

------------

I dont modify the fuel systems on these cars.
I mix some thinner ( diesel, RUG, Napathaline ) with the veggie and pour it in the tank.
I have been running these mixes for years now.
Several thousands of miles.
With no problems at all.
And so have lots and lots of other people.

---------------

I filled my car with veggie and the glove compartment door fell off.
Darn veggie destroyed my car..

There are many people on this forum on WVO (despite the anti-hype we see a lot), and have few problems since they do their homework when filtering and processing the WVO. However the lovecraft systems are pretty much junk if you look at the components - cheap and less effective than they could be. There was a good thread going a while ago about lovecraft ("Lovecraft officially out of business") showing a lot of their faults. It bothers me when people destroy these great cars because they are not following proper processing techniques and quite honestly have no clue what they are doing. If you work with everything correctly, more power to ya...getting free fuel and you can't complain about that!

Just before the next oil change I would soak the cylinders with marvel mystery oil for a few days. If there is any buildup of goo around the rings it may help clear it.

It might be benificial to do a compression check just before and after the soak. If there is a noticable difference others would like to know. This is based on your suggestion it might have been on vegatable oil for twenty K.

Thanks for pointing out for everyone the worst possible choices to make.
At least Lovecrap had the sense to at least TRY to heat the oil.

I have several years and many thousands of miles running these fuels.
And there are thousands of people running these cars on veggie fuel with no problems.

You have no experience at all.
Yet you claim to know the way I do things is " the worst possible choice "

---------------------

You have admitted to having no personal experience running veggie.

But you claim to know it all.

And continue to act like an alternative fuels expert on this forum.

Despite repeated attemts to get you to show us any kind of evidence of damage
to these engines, you have shown us nothing.

You have no experience, and cannot support your veggie hate retorhic.

Give it a rest why dont you ???

There you go again, spouting off more nonsense.
Just because you're fine with abusing your car doesn't mean I'll stand by and let new members think your advice on how to abuse an engine is okay for them heed.
The fact I refuse to abuse my car does not demonstrate "lack of experience", its demonstrates my ability to "make a good choice". I don't smoke cigarettes either, does that mean I should stop telling people its dangerous and they shouldn't start smoking?

As you so quaintly put it, Give it a rest.
