That article about the 300D is harsh! It pretty much rips the W123 to shreds vs the W126.....I do agree with a lot of what it says, especially the small price difference between them.....but the W123 is an excellent car too....however, not an S-class.....

Funny how the W123 article from 1981 was right on the dot when they predicted that the W123's successor wouldn't come out until 1986.

Kind of makes you want to step in the time machine and buy these cars right off the lot, but then again they were slow.

No one believed me,when I told them I got 32 to 37 mpg,with a 2:47 rear end.
Might be slow,but cast iron all the way.
