Was there ever a 5 speed in a W123 gasser? Would it bolt on a 617?

AFAIK 1987 was the last year a manual trans of any sort was sold in the US by Mercedes until 2007 (?).

..I also have a 427 Cobra replica with an aluminum chassis.

I have a 5-speed in my 1980 300GD that came out of some kind of sedan that has an electronic speed sensor. Some kind of 126? 124? I'm not that familiar with the other models and what bolt patterns were used on the blocks. It is behind my om617 however.
