Sunroof rear seals -Help!

need help getting the rear seal into that notch that retains it.(1984 300cd). It's too very tight to get the metal strip into the seal slit.

You may need to remove the sliding roof.

Remove the sunroof, remove the rear seal, remove all the crud out of the groove, use lots of soap to install the new seal and work from the ends. Don't work from one end to the other... If you do... You will find out why.

Work the seal with the soap downward rather that side to side. Piece of cake.

Use some sealant on the end flaps to secure them to the sunroof.

The hardest part is the removal and installation.

The only way the W123 front & rear SR seals will work properly is that they be OE seals. Neither Meyle nor Euro will work, plus they will be next to impossible to install. The OE seals are no more expensive than the aftermarkets, and they take just a matter of minutes to install, as opposed to numerous painful hours. The problem with the after market seals is that they are slightly thicker than the OEs and their rubber is harder.
