My good friend is looking at a 1991 300D - with 174K - seems to be in a decent shape. Seems to have no visible rust. The car drives well, but it has a rough idle - valves, motor mounts, engine shocks, other?! Would this be concerning?

Is there anything about these models we should pay attention to especially?

Not a rod-bender, that was the 3.5L.

Look in the DIY section, I believe there is a 124 or W124 buyer's guide, should get you started.

Great, great car...

Evaporators are prone to leaking. VERY expensive to repair. Evaporator on my 92 had/has a leak and on the 91 I just got I have an as-yet-undiagnosed AC leak....I'm suspecting the evaporator.
