Blower motor question

So I had pretty much figured that my blower motor was shot, since nothing would happen when I tried to turn on the heat.

I had looked at the fuses before and they looked fine, but I just thought I would try changing out #8 just to make sure.

Well when I did, the blower motor started blowing! Just for a sec, before it blew the fuse. When I replaced the fuse again, I could not get the blower motor to turn on again.

So what do you all think?

Thanks!

The blower may be drawing too many amps, resulting in the fuse issue. You'd have to pull it and check the brushes.

X2

also if you havent already done so, it would be a good idea to change all of the old aluminum fuses to the copper ones.

you could also use a meter to see how much current it is pulling at full speed.

Make sure that the meter is rated for 20+ amps. Otherwise the meter will be coverted to smoke unless it is properly fused.

i agree, use the fused side. if you want to spend the money but an amp clamp to use on the meter.
