82 300D turbo turnsignal failure

Hi All, it's been a while since I posted the last time.

Yesterday my turnsignals stopped working (82 300D turbo) I checked the fuse, it's good.

I figure maybe the relay or something. It's not even making the usual clicking noise.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

I'd have to know where the relay is located in order to replace it.

Thanks

Clean the hazard switch contacts. I think the relay might be under there too, but it doesn't sound like a relay problem.

You could need a new combination switch. PM me if you need one.

But don't jump to conclusions. After my car was sitting for a few months, I drove it and the signals didn't work. Everybody told me to replace the switch and/or relay, but they just started working again, so I don't know what was wrong, but nothing needed replacing.

Yeah, you're right. It's been very hot the past few days and weeks. I will hang in there.
I keep it touch in case it turns out to be the combo switch.

Same issue with my 300 & 300SD

Two likely suspects
1) Combo switch on steering colum stalk.
-spray some 10-w40 on the connection and work the turn signal lever a bit

2) Hazard switch on shift panel (most likey)
-The red/orange hazard switch is also a relay that controls the turn signals.
Pull the hazard switch out of the shift panel and disconnect from wire harness. (switch pulls out of harness like the window controls)
Clean male "Prongs" on harzard wiring connector with some emory paper
Clean female "holes" on hazard switch
Pusn on/off hazard switch a few times to work it.

Reconnect Hazard switch to wiring harness and see if you have turn signals back.

My '83 does this exact thing too. If I toggle the switch back and forth a few times it usually starts working. Sometimes it seems to have to be in just the right position. Try that before you throw any money at the problem.

+2 on the hazard switch. Exact issue with my 84.

It was the position of the Hazard switch. You guys are the best, as always!

I just had the same problem but just my right turn signal wouldn't work. I could hear it kind of cutting out/clicking. Turns out the plug at the end of the combination switch was dirty - some contact cleaner and all's well.

My hazard switch does the same thing on my '84 300D
