No directionals or hazards on W123

I have a 1982 240d auto. The directionals dont work and the hazard flasher doesn't click. I replaced the origional flasher with a new hella, still nothing. There is power going to the combination swith from the flasher, and all wires in the combo switch reads less than .2 ohms. To sum it all up, I have power from the fusebox to the hazard flasher, from the hazard flasher to the combo switch and still nothing. I'm guessing the power wire in the hazard is the 30, but thats as far as I have gotten. Not looking forward to another day of confusion and concern. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Anybody seen this before??

Relay.

Flasher relay under the center console cover (just ahead of the shift lever)?

Cool, I remember seeing it this morning. How do I test it, or should I just replace it? Much appreciated. I was dreading another morning of head scratching!:)

Just replace the flasher switch...the relay is included.

These switches are very well made and can be disassembled and cleaned. Due to their location, it is common for them to collect all sorts of foreign matter. Disassemble, clean and you're back on the road.

Relay x2. On my 82 300D, same problem. I replaced the hazard switch- no difference. I then replaced the relay- all good!

To clear the confusion: The older flasher units (bigger ones) are the switch & flasher combined - in shift console. The later units are separate: Switch in shift console and flasher behind center console.

Relay.

Yup. On later cars the switch/relay are separate. You can disassemble and clean the relay ass'y, I believe.

Yes, I already relaced the flasher switch with no changes. There is what looks like a relay to the front-left of the shifter, but I cant see any wires going toward the flasher. Is there a chance this is the relay for the blower??
