:You're wasting your time.

I fiddled around trying to fix my cruise control about 5 or 6 years ago. Installed a Rostra Ultra 11. Plugs into the MB computer socket and you're done. No wiring, no new controls/switches, no new VSS; just plug in and go. I've had the Rostra for 5 years; it flawless. Plus it allows you to set how aggressive you want the crusie control to respond to changing work loads.

agreed, its a waste. I have to keep swapping parts to keep mine working. 1st the actuator, then the control, then the little tach drive on the speedo. Im on my second actuator and still I have to accel with the stalk and then set it or it doesnt hold the set speed. the stuff probably worked fine 30 years ago, but unless you do the whole system which is big dollars it will be a hit or miss system

Yup; if you are going to restore the correct system, do it all at once. I redid mime a couple of years ago (about $600 in parts, as I recall) and it has been working perfectly. If you do it piecemeal, you will always be chasing problems.

Rostra = Audiovox - vacuum or electronic (Rostra makes them for Audiovox)

That's Rostra Ultra II as in the roman numeral for 2, not 11 as in eleven.
