1983 300d extraction is complete
whew ! now that the engine and transmission and driveline and differential is laying in various places around the garage and outside, it pretty easy to see how it all goes together. if i ever need to do it again, except for the wiring harness and stuff under the dash, i think its pretty easy. just time consuming. i even took out the complete interior and put it in another car im trying to save. and that was not difficult either, just takes some thinking. i think i even saved the diesel clack that goes with these cars. everything that would un-bolt, or be cut out has been. tomorrow the windshield is ready to push out but i wanted someone here to help me catch it. then wrap the edge with electricial tape to keep it safe for the next 50 years as it sits in the hay loft of the old barn. j
these are very interesting cars the way they have been engineereed to be built and serviced. there is a logical reason for everything. . . altho they won't tell you what it is. . . even the dang dash assembly, push it out, no bolts, nothing but pressure. wow. i thought i was dreaming when i did that. thanks for the motor mount help the other night from those of you that answered. its easy if you know what your looking for. now i need to find something neat to put the running gear in. i sold my 46 hudson about 6 weeks too early . that would have been a honey. . .
