123 1983 300D - Location of the blower motor regulator?

Hey guys,

Just a long shot here, but does anyone know the location of the blower motor regulator on a 123 1983 300D?

the resistors are in the engine compartment

passenger side fender, in a metal housing that has holes in it.

I found the resistor and removed the blower motor....are those the only parts the impact operation? I was driving and the blower stopped working.....played with the CCU and ti started back..only to run for a few minutes and stop.

I did notice that the blower was not blowing on high when it restarted ...also the fuse does not have power? Will a bad resistor cause this or the blower regulator?

Sounds like your pushbutton unit is having some issues.

Before you open that thing up, check your fuses first - inspect them with a fine toothed comb. Wiggle them around or turn them. They can look good, but still be bad.

1. I dd check the fuse an actually changed it. Replaced with new.
2. Switched out the CCU with my spare and it still did not work.
3. I checked at the dealer and was told that there isn't a strip fuse either.

Had a guy jump the fuse with another and the wires started heating up.

That's the resistor, not the regulator. The regulator is in the vicinity of the glove box.

Where around the glove box...I even pulled out the glove box liner, lower kick panel, removed the blower motor, and still don't see it. Am I missing something or just that stupid?

tango has got the right idea but its attached the ccu unit not the glovebox

ron59b 09-06-2009 12:07 AM

okay, Is it behind the CCU? I had it out and it wasn't part of the CCU? Thanks for everyone's help thus far, but I have looked and must be over looking it.

I had seen the picture of the part too.

If the blower regulator is attached to the CCU I will eat my torque wrench!!!

With the glove box liner removed, both the blower regulator and temp regulator should be easy to see.

The MB Electrical Manual describes the location as "behind the glove box." That's where it is on my '82 300D.

I did see the temp regulator and ever pics up an extra one from the bone yard today.

I also picked up and extra blower motor and resistor. Is the blower motor regulator located under something?

ron59b 09-06-2009 12:14 AM

Sorry to keep you up? I will look again tomorrow? If you have a snap shot of it and its location, that would really help. Thanks again to you and everyone else for your assistance.

:D

The book shows the blower regulator mounted just to the right of the temp regulator.
