I've got a junk auto tranny. 123 car with mechanical speedo. My parts car; 83 300sd; 126 car, has a elect. speedo. My question is can I swap out the rear housing where the speedo connection is so I can have the mech. speedo?

Probably, yet the rear end gear ratio may be different, giving you a false reading.

havent done it myself but almost had to once, read up on it. tail housing swap should be no problem

Thanks for the info. Will do some more reading. Far as false reading, I don't think it would be enough to worry about.
