We've had a 2005 since 2005! Personally, I rate it very highly. It drives extremely well and tows like a dream. It's a very solid vehicle (jeep heritage I suppose). There is a sensor which I've cleaned (and it needs it now) that seems to control performance and fuel economy. Easy to service it. The lostkjs site is the technical and help resource for DIY. Mileage could be a bit better (we average about 23 combined). This was my first new car (couldn't wait to get my hands on it being a diesel fan). I'd buy another.

I love mine. 30mpg on the highway, and it pulls like a train. The fuel filter is a very poor design. A lift pump is an excellent upgrade considering the ECM has the logic and wiring to support it.

The Jeep is actually quite well built.

It really seems to me like they are a hit or miss car, the ones that are good are really good and the ones that are bad are terrible. I have been thinking of the lift pump but first I have to replace the filter head. The connector on mine started to melt so I have that unplugged but I am getting air in the system to were I have to bleed it regularly. I did the provent and I highly recommend that. The oil I drain out is very gritty. The TC on these cars are the weak link, Sun coast makes the upgrade and it is pretty reasonable. Again no problems out of mine but I do not tow anything.

Gosh, I'm a bit surprised to hear all the positive comments. Most of what I have heard up until now about the Jeep Liberty CRDs was negative. But I have no personal experience with them other than looking at one on the showroom floor.
