W126 Sunroof, were am I going to find this part ?

Just got home yesterday with a 1987 300SDL. The sunroof did not work properly and was not closed at the rear edge. I tore into it this morning. In the photos you can see at least part of the problem.

I don't know what you call the part, but it is cracked off on both ends.

What is the part called?

I assume that if I got this far into it that going far enough to replace that part will not be too much more work.

Thanks,
Greg

Those are the lift arms. Not uncommon for them to break on these old cars, especially if the sunroof hasn't been religiously lubed its whole life. My advice would be to buy them from the dealer ... they aren't cheap but for the effort it takes to rebuild the sunroof, it's worth it to have a known quality part. Someone else might have a good idea about an aftermarket brand. I would not use a used lift arm, personally, although I guess if it could certainly do the job if you happen to get a solid set.

They're called "slide angles" in the parts catalog. They cost just over $50/e. Replace them both.

Thanks for your responses.

They are both broken, so I will replace them both.

Jason, does the catalog you have give the MB part number?
