return of the blinking seat belt light
Did anyone ever get to the bottom of why the seat belt light starts coming on/going off randomly even though you are wearing the seat belt and have unplugged the connector under the seat? Previous fixes have been to remove the bulb, and the ground strap has been mentioned, but seems like a bad ground would effect other circuits. Very annoying.

I had an SD which would do that but it was not random...it appeared to be random but would do it when certain lights were powered on the cluster. I tracked it down to a burned trace on the circuit board in the cluster which was causing the problem. For example, I might have signaled for a left turn which would trigger the seat belt warning light to start flashing in its cycle.
Fixed the burned up trace and the light never came on again. |
Thanks, I'll pay close attention, but I suppose a circuit board glitch could result in random on/off as well. Sorta wanted to avoid pushing the cluster out, but seems to be headed that direction. Or I might just pull the bulb.
