w116 shift mod

I am trying to make do without the little white vacuum valves on the top of the valve cover of my 80 sd (W116), a friend who is a mechanic recently told me there's a way to bypass them, but he didn't tell me of course.
Anybody knows this mod?

These are the valves i am speaking about, i heard that i can bypass them and make shifting smoother.
I guess its kind of like getting rid of the blue saucer on the w124 diesels?
Ep
