Dot3 or Dot4 does it matter?
I finishing up the brakes on the old 73 220d. I've done a search but nothing definitive has come up.
Does this car require one type of brake fluid over another?

If 73 220D has disc brakes, DOT 4 is must, OTOH, DOT 4 is better compared to DOT3 as it would heat up less and absorb moisture. It would also mean better braking to an extent provided rest of the stuff is up to the mark.

You must be kidding. The exact same discussion three times in one week? Do a forum search on "DOT4". It's been discussed ad nauseum.

Either is fine but DOT 4 is better. Try to find non-synthetic fluid sometimes synthetic can cause old master cylinders and calipers to start leaking.
