Question about B2 piston and part numbers
My '83 300D was attacked by the B2 bug, it started having a real hard time with 1st gear, yet would go into 2nd & up ok. Reverse was also unaffected. Research led me to believe that the B2 piston was the problem so I started tearing into the car. When I was able to pop off the cover it was confirmed with a cascade of pieces.
So I started to price up parts for the repair. I found a cheap piston on ebay, but it is listed with a part number of 1072700432. Now when I take that number and search Fastlane, it takes me directly to part number W133-1603886 a B2 Piston. My question is are these both MB part numbers for the same item? Also it seems that the parts are identical, will the 1072700432 work for my tranny?
