Are the windshields swappable?

I'm wondering if you can stick a 126 windshield on a 123, if they are the same thing. I need this for both front and rear, keeping my fingers crossed. I don't have a 123 to go out and measure ...well not yet !

The answer is no, the w126 is a large s class sedan and the w123 i s a e class, almost all of the dimensions are different, you can look for used w123 glass at a pnp yard the cost is around 40 dollars.

Well the deal is theres a 300D I'm going to look at around here that has both the front and rear windows smashed from falling branches. I'm trying to get an idea on the total price of the thing to see if I can really afford it. I imagine pulling the front windshield is a PITA, have to scrape off all the old sealant and stuff. The reason I'm asking about 126/123 swappability is because there is a yard in my area that always seems to have a w126 or two (usually in great shape too) but I have never seen a w123 there. I'd probably install both of them myself and gamble with the rear window rope method ordeal. Thanks for the extremely quick replies (its been what, like 15 minutes!?), Euro I may take you up on the offer if this all works out...we'll see.

Nope- on a W123 there is no urethane on the front like a W126. It's old fashioned rubber (install with string trick) both ends on a W123.

Welp, shows how much I know about the 123...Mixed feelings about that one, easy coming out and a pain to put in.

I pulled all the glass from my car with the exception of the rear one, and the front one. Ill cut out that rear glass. At Harrys P-n-p theres been a few 123's lately. I know they hae all their glass, just not sure of the shape they were in

Don't know if it will be true of MBZ but used glass frequently delaminates causing a cloudy area around the edges. Given the install effort, that may lead you to new glass & professional install. My friend that has been a body man for years farms out his glass work.
