Yes....my SD has the 3.07 diff......it feels like a lot more than 180ft/lbs off the line!

My challenge still exists, anyone who wants to put their SDL against my SD is welcome.

I'll take you up on the challenge.

The 3.07 was perfect for the SD. And the engines are more forgiving in all. They are more powerful off the line, no matter how you slice it. That's just the way it is. The OM606 Turbo in the E300 is even worse.

Here's a short clip of mine (the sound quality sux, I know....)

!

I'm not confident in any sort, but I'd love to drag race the SD! If anything, I'd like to see how much slower my 603 is against the 617 !

Also...There is nothing wrong with a 617. It has plenty of power, these W126 cars, without extensive modifications, will not handle much better than they were designed to. It is what it is, you only pick up 20 hp, an aluminum head, and a major headache to retrofit. I don't think it's worth it. Unless you're looking for something with more potential for power, but even then it's K's more to get there, and you can get a reasonably nice SDL for that money. And get the amenities, a second car, and a LWB to boot!

Oh no, i not going to part out the 300SDL it runs and drives, I just having an ideal since i have a spare OM603, what i was thinking is that if i can use a 300SD's Torque converter insted of the 300SDL, another idea is, is the OM606 head compatable with the OM603????
