Exclamation accelerator pedal hard to press!

My accelerator pedal seems hard to press down. I'm new to these diesel's as I just purchased this one recently. It's not as easy to push down as my 450 SL. Is this normal or is there any kind of adjustment for this. My wife is not to happy with it. It's especially hard to push for her considering that she's 5'3.

These pedals are stiffer than many cars, but as mentioned, lube the connections and inspect for any obvious problems.

I did lube everything and all linkage moves freely, so I guess that this is the nature of the beast!

Check for play at the part that pivots from the Fire Wall the Bushings inside sometimes go bad.

Also, take a look at the linkages general alinment and see if there is something putting tension on it; for example if your Motor Mounts have collasped causing the whole Engine Block to be lower than it is supposed to be.

Thanks,

I will recheck everything again tomorrow as I go to work soon, but thanks to everyone for your input. I'm new here and you guys have helped me out with my problems tremendously. Alot cheaper than these MB mechanics and alot more knowledgable. Thanks again!

Also lube any pivot points that may have one or more ball joint connectors on it.

I also lubed the springs.

My '82 300SD has a spring hanger for throttle under car and you can move spring to an easier-push hole; ie make spring smaller in length.
