Junk to respectable...in 20 days!

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/photobucket.com/bradsscootersJust got a 84 300dt for my next project. Always looking for something to do. But here is some pictures of my last project that I picked up on ebay for $1300. All totaled, I now have invested $2063.14 into this project and I am pretty satisfied with the end result. She aint' perfect, but It's getting looks for all the right reasons now and I feel good that I saved the old "77 450 SL from the junkyard!http://photobucket.com/bradsscooters

Very cool! That was my goal with my 240D, but after seven months it still looks more like your starting photos. Although I spent a good portion of that time fixing stuff underneath the car and then trying to find a place to keep it. Post some picks of the 300D as you make progress, would be cool to see.

lookin real nice. personally my next step for this car would be to paint-match the hubcaps to the colour of the car. then i'd look into a zebrano switch holder trim to match the shifter

for 20 days' work that's a good result

Did you paint it yourself? Or did you have a shot do it? The paint looks very nice. I'm curious how much it cost to do at the shop.

I did the body work myself, but I had Maaco paint the car. I had them use an intigrated clearcoat with the blue/green metallic paint code #877. It cost $370 to paint the car! That did not include under the hood or the jams. I painted those myself with custom matched spray cans that I purchased from a local paint shop and they made them for me while I waited. Two cans were about $24.00
