1983 MB 300D Headlights flicker during acceleration.
 

Hi,

I noticed a strange electrical issue with my 1983 MB 300D (161K) this evening. While accelerating the headlights and interior lights flicked from normal to dim, at a consistent fast rate. This occurs only during acceleration either while moving or idling. When I remove my foot from the accelerator on the highway and coast the lights are normal.

I do not use the car much at night so I don't know how long this has been happening. The car runs great even with this issue.

Start by checking voltage of battery while engine is running. Could be alternator or brushes on regulator. Also I'd replace all fuses if you have not done anytime recently.
