Transmission modulator location for 1987 300D

I have to be looking in the wrong spot, either that or I am blind! Just got done looking for over 5 min underneath the car on the drivers side of the tranny trying to locate the modulator. Does anyone have a picture of the location?
Too bad the Mercedes does not have a clear cut reference and schematics guide like the BMW at

Blackie, just follow a black vacuum line that goes from the ip down in to the tranny, it goes to it, you cant miss it, 1st have a look on top then follow it under the car, sort of in front of the pan i believe on the 87, you cant miss it if you follow the line going into it.

The piece of insulation got loose and hid the modulator, so I could not see it at all from the bottom, followed the advice about the vaccum line and found it.
