Loose drive train
Good Morning,
I know that sounds a little vague. Lately I've noticed that when I give and let off the fuel pedal that there is a time lag before anything engages. It's like coasting for just a second, and then she starts to gear down. Also, if I'm taking off from a slight incline and I slowly let out the clutch there is a shutter feeling. Do you think I might need to replace any universal joints, and adjust my clutch (if it is adjustable) or, replace it. Thanks for reading this. Hugh Sr. |

ok, I see you have a clutch in your car.
what kind of car? the signs point to a slipping clutch, but it's possible you can adjust it for more play. how much pedal travel is there before you feel it engage? odds are good you need a pressure plate and clutch disc. it could also be brake fluid or engine oil on the disc and it's slipping a bit on that.
