Picture of good hood hinge for W123?
Not sure if this belongs here or in "body parts," but I will start here...
Anyone got a picture of a good hood hinge for a W123? I am trying to figure out what part of mine is bent. But that is hard to do when you are not sure which parts are supposed to be straight, and which ones are supposed to be bent.

Sounds like someone tried to close the hood from 90 degrees without unclipping the lock.
Passenger side first.

Thank you. I will compare mine to your pictures tomorrow in the daylight.

Can you compare the other hinge to the bent one? I would make sure the bottom hinge pin has not seized in the bushing as well. Pretty common occurance and hard to repair if torn out. At least lubricate the bushings if not seized. One may be very stiff. That is enough to bend up a hinge.

I think they are both bent. How? I forgot I left the hood up a little the previous night. When I pulled out in the morning, it was dark so I did not notice it. At about 35 MPH, the hood flew up, cracked the windshield. Now the back of the hood hits the cowling. It just needs about 1/2 inch more to clear it.

I am not in love with the hinges on these cars. In your case a cheap set out of a salvage yard might be an option as well. These hinges can seem a little flimsy even when fairly normal.
