Replaced Mounts, Now Shocks? What parts?

i just got back from having my engine mounts replaced. during the procedure, my shocks started leaking, which i assume means they're shot. proof is in the extra back and forth shake at shut down now.

my question is this: do i need to just buy two engine shocks or do i need to get two shocks plus two shock mount kits? two shocks plus two shock mounts plus two shock mount kits? or maybe two shocks and two shock mounts?

everything appeared to be in good working, the leak being the only problem that we could see. what is your recommendation? thanks!

It's possible that they leaked in just one particular position when they were pulled - such as fully extended, which they will never see while mounted. So check them mounted. If they are still leaking, then you need new ones. The kit is new rubber, washers, & nuts. If the rubber is hard & collapsed, get the kit.

My 240 auto only has 1 engine shock and the manual has none.

Depends on the condition of the other components.
Non turbos, mostly, don't have 'em. 300's, mostly, have two.

so, leaking doesn't necessarily mean broken? i'll check for leaks now, but i feel like i'm feeling the negative effects of broken shocks now. i guess i'll just replace the shocks when i get to it, and not the other stuff.

Be ready for sticker shock, between $80-100 per side for the whole thing. The shock (sold separately) mounts into a rubber/metal bushing (sold separately) and has some rubber mounts (sold separately).

The Shock Mounts are expensive. I ended up getting my shock mouts from the Junk Yard. I was charged under $1 for them.
