Is there anything to puff up trunk seals?

I'm getting a small amount of water in my trunk. I suspect it's coming in from the top. Getting in the trunk and have someone hose it off is probably not going to work, as I'm assuming it's a slow leak.

Are there any opportunities for water to come in elsewhere? I think under the spare tire there's a hole, isn't there? If there is, that's by the manufacturer, so no sense messing with that.

Anyways, just wondered like they have with power steering seals, etc., something to rejuvenate the rubber. Do they have anything for door and trunk seals?

3m silicone spray will rejuvinate rubber. Spray on liberally and wipe down.

You can also try tire dressing type sprays and let it soak in, it brings rubber back to life unless it's so bad there is no hope.

Your rear window seal might be an even better bet.

Get in the trunk and have someone you trust spray water over the back end of the car. Take something inside with you that the person outside wants. Like their keys or beer.

Oh, bring a flashlight with you as well...

I had an Audi once with a mysterious trunk leak. Turned out to be the seals around the tail lamp lenses.

You may be able to see rust under the rear window seal. If so, stick a small screw driver or pick in & feel if it is rusted through. Be gentle so you don't damage the seal.

I had one 124 leak around a tail-lamp, a 201 that did that also.

My daughter's '94 leaked along the front edge of the trunk seal, being that I don't expect that car to last long, I put a thin strip of self-stick closed-cell foam weatherstrip along the underside of the trunk lid where the seal is supposed to touch, fixed the problem.

Under the spare tire there is a hole, should be a rubber plug in it with a kind of a flap to prevent water ingress, only there to let water out. The trunk should be pressurized slightly by the ventilation system and blow out through the vents hidden by the bumper ends.
