Thanks Charlie. I don't want to hijack the thread but I think the OP question has been answered.
Did you R&R the side window bright molding? If so, did you have to replace the window gaskets?
There must be another story regarding the driver side front fender.

Wink

This will come in handy for me some day too. New Zealand is soooo far away....it's barely worth the hassle.

No, I didn`t do anything to the side molding, It`s all there.
same gaskets as when I bought it back in 97.

The fender< man you have a good eye. yeah there is rust along the top edges of the fenders, the clear coat is pealing. the hood is pealed in the enter through several layers.
The car was in a fender bender before I got it. the hood and fenders are tweeked.

I have another front end for it whenever I get around to painting them.

So you just masked the window trim?
I'm considering painting the door and windown bright molding all black as done on newer models. My bright molding is pretty foggy.

Most bright molding on these cars is foggy, be nice to get it polished out.

I didn`t paint the doors, so didn`t have to deal with the trim, YET.
I had the front and rear windows out, along with the sunroof, deck lid, rear bumber, lights and quarter molding.

Sanded, primed, sanded, primed.................seal coat, 3 coats of silver and clearcoat.

then replaced all seals with new ones. windows, sun roof, trunk, rear lights.

Just never got around to the other sheet metal parts, YET> was going to do some this summer, but running out of time. too many other projects.

If you are going to paint the foggy trim, it might peel later on. check to see if there is a product to apply first so it will adhere well.

If you look at the 3rd and 5th pic above, I removed the paint on the molding piece between the back door and the rear glass. I polishes up real nice. the reason for that, I screwed up taking it off to paint the car.

had to go to PNP to retrieve some new ones. new ones were brown and a creme color. so striped them and they looked so nice, I polished them.
