1998 300SDL alternator
Is the 70 amp alt the only size you can get for 300sdl? It seems a little weak i am planning to replace but wanted to go up to 100 but cant find one any ideas or sugestions anyone?

Search AL129, I think it'll get you there, or "alternator upgrade".

you can go even higher than 100 by using an MB alternator with the right number of ribs on the pulley, just by swapping the brackets that hold it to the bracket on the engine

I got a 160 amp alternator off of a +/-97 S600 that was wrecked. It cost $79 from one of the big internet junkyards... all I had to do was to take an impact and undo the pulley retaining bolt, and swap the pulley from the SDL onto the bigger alternator...
Then I had to undo the wires. I got 0 gauge welding cable, and a 16 gauge wire for the excite field, ends, and soldered them up right. Put the new cable in the correct fields, and away she went... I could then run my 800W sub without the headlights dimming....
