87 sdl alda

i read here that some people shut off alda,is this ok ,i want more power and have done all the normal stuff, filters ect, alda is hard to get to in these cars,so how do you unhook alda??.or is it better to try to adjust screw, though the risk of damage seems high.

Some believe that adjusting the ALDA screw is the better method, as it leaves the overboost-protection functional, some believe that removing it is better.

I go with the adjustment, haven't had a problem in 3 cars adjustment.

Attempt to adjust it first if there's any peace of mind in it for you, and if you break it then just leave it off and forget it.

It's in the same place, top of the IP.

1-1/2 turn CCW is what I do, if it gives resistance stop, you might have reached the end of its travel.

I don't believe that the 603 IP will seriously overfuel if you completely top-out the adjustment, my experience has been that just a little visible puff on takeoff is all it will yield with noticably more spunk.
