Tell me, how do the back seats covered in leather hold up in a wagon? I've got front leather seats (non-original) and tex rear seats.
Much better than the fronts. The driver's side was replaced at some point, and the passenger and rears original.

Is that dust, sunlight or other?

For me, in the area of 123's I like black, because my 240D was black and she looked DAMN good, if I do say so myself

However, black is beyond a pain to maintain and you must keep at it all the time. But it really pays off in the end. Other than black I think that yellowish color they came in looks good except when people don't take care of them and it fades into this nasty turd yellow and looks horrible.

Sev, the original picture you posted, that color looks good and Signalrot looks pretty nice, wouldn't mind it! The surfblau car looks awesome!!!!

BUT I absolutely love the brown metallic, it looks so good!!! Tyler I think your color looks good and I really like the rims on it, I kept wanting to complement you on that! Ol'Turbo looks really good!

As for mah 220eh I REALLY want to go with black, and have her looking like this:

But I don't know if I want to ditch the "original" color. Still debating, as much as I dislike black it looks so elegant and classy on these cars, like it's pure 100% grade A luxury on 4 wheels...

LOL! naw but that would have been something else aye? no the door jams were black and so was the trunk, but the engine compartment and the firewall were still yellow. It didn't even hit me until a few times opening the hood lol It was one of those "wait a minute" moments

It was painted black when it was still in Massachusetts I think back in 2005.

If any unknowing people ask questions tell them Mercedes painted the engine bays in bright colors so it would allow you to see things in the bays more easily

I'm just wondering what a yellow turd would look like. Thankfully I've never had an interesting enough meal combination to have one.

LOL that's exactly what I would tell them!

I wish I still had the car though, it was an awesome, reliable car. I sold it to get a white 85 300DT and didn't even get the 300DT... I sold it to some guy at autozone and they put a bobble head dog on the dash along with "DUB" emblems on the fenders and a HUGE sticker on the back window that said "FAMILY" THEN on top of that I went to autozone one day and see it in the parking lot with a weird looking front left fender and the left wheel all bent. Turns out his mom drove it and got in an accident, she was okay but the car didn't look so hot. It kind of hurt me deep down because I really did like that car and it had lots of memories. Now it's all ghettoed out and has a bent wheel. -sigh-

Any who, I really like the Brown metallic and black. My two favorites!

Moral of the story....don't sell a great car to someone who works at a store that primarily sells parts for lesser cars

Yeah, a mistake i'll NEVER make again! -_- If I won lotto i'd buy her back and fix her up. All she needed was a head gasket and sway bar linkages.

Both my wagons, an '81 and an '85 came from the factory with leather interior.
It doesn't hold up as well as MB Tex without long-term sustained care and treatment, which most folks didn't do. Tex lasted much longer without much intervention.
Andrew's 240 is the bestest MB color I think. Hopefully he will chime in. The pic of that car in the air craft hanger is awesome!!!
Kudos to all the wonderfully awful colors of the 70's. I would love any of them. It's times like this that I sure do miss the Squash.

China is my only car of color at the moment. {black, silver and white just don't fit the criteria}

The China Blue is alright but it never really struck me as a standout color. For me it just doesn't have the depth and reflection of a lot of the other colors. Its good but I don't feel that its a chart topper.
