350SDL Fuel leak

I have a persistant fuel leak at the fuel strainer on my tank. I'm starting to wonder what the best way to get this thing to seal might be. I might over torque the strainer to see if it will squeeze the seal to stop it. I may also blow out the metal fuel line to see if there might be something in the line even though fuel seems to flow.

There might even be a small tear or hole in the tank right by the strainer for all I know. The PO had no gasket in the old strainer and had tightened it so toght to try and stop the leak (with no gasket) that I had to use a 3 ft. bar on the end of my ratchet to get it loose. Maybe that damaged something.

Anyone have any other ideas? Other than a new tank...

You have a new gasket in the strainer, right? You could try draining the tank, pulling the strainer again and fortify the seal with some RTV, let it dry and try again.

Pull the tank, it is easy. A good radiator shop can fix it, if you can not.
