New Addition to the Stable

Just purchased a 87 TDT (yes it is a wagon) with 230K miles for $3000. Runs very good, no blow bye and only a couple issues. Climate control system blows hot air no matter what the setting, driver door switch broken and needs replacement, there was a large water leak from the sunroof but the po has already blew the lines out. I will see when i get back from my trip. And last, the rear hatch seal needs replacement since it leaks as well. He is in the garage until i get back. Did not take any pics yet since they just drove it over last night.
My 84 300SD is taking me from clarksville tn to charlotte nc, chambersburg PA, margate city nj, long island ny, boston ma, hartford ct back to margate and the philly area for another week then back down to tennessee. All these places in 3 weeks.
Should be a good trip! In Charlotte now and she performed flawlessly for 7 hours!

Congrats on the new purchase. It looks like you have a pretty good handle on what you need to do to get your new car up to your standards. I understand the climate control is a little complicated, but not indecipherable. Much information is available here.

Oh, and you might want to search "rogue t".

It is a problem vehicle, so you should sell it to me, ... cheap. I can be there tonight.

Seriously though, those of us who like Mercedes diesels, and want a hauler, love 300TDs.

No, i think i will keep him. we have a name already picked out, its Markie. The 300SD is Matilda.
Todays run in the 300SD was between Charlotte, NC & Chambersburg PA.
27mpg running at an average of 70mph, not to bad. The cruise control acted up today so it was manual foot control all the way. Guess I have to look at the cruise amp when i get back.
Tomorrows run is Chambersburg,PA to Margate City, NJ after a day of sales calls in and around Harrisburg, PA.

Hmm Ithaca College Parking Services sees my 300 a bit different.

How did I miss this?

I've been on the hunt for a good wagon especially since ski season will be here soon.

Maybe if I search hard enough I can find one with the HD suspension option. I would go crazy for that!

This wagon actually found me. I was coming out of Lowes when the po came up to me and we started talking about the older vintage mercedes. Turns out his 87 300TD Wagon was sitting in the garage for 3 years and he was interested in finding out whether I would like to purchase it.
When i get back he is supposed to have a box full of parts and the original becker radio for me.
I think it was a good find. You tell me when i post the pics. I'll be back in clarksville Friday Nov.6th.
