How do you get diesel oil off your skin?

For the first time I changed the oil on the 73 220d.

My right arm got covered with oil. Because I had the cannister in my hand trying to negotiate the thing out of that maze, it was maybe 1 or 2 minutes before i got a chance to wipe the oil off my arm.

Two days later (and a couple of showers), my arm still has a shade of diesel oil.

Does anyone have tips on how to get this stuff off? Gojo helped a little but the stuff is in the pores

It just takes time... think of it as a cool tattoo, a mark of Diesel Distinction...

Dirty motor oil (DMO) is a very hazardous and toxic substance--try to keep it off you. Vet supply and chemical supply houses will have super-long gloves for sale.

Otherwise, dose up LIBERALLY with hand lotion FIRST. The cracks and pores will be loaded with pretty stuff; the DMO will then pretty much wash right off.

I typically use dish soap, works pretty well at getting oil/grease off. Smells good too!

I've found that Fast Orange works better than Gojo and other similar products. Even so, it takes a couple of applications/scrubbings to get off most of the oil. The oil/grease under my fingernails takes a few days to disappear.

Latex gloves...

A pair of cheap latex gloves (if I remember to put them on in time...) works well - long sleeves shirt protects the forearms. The Gojo orange stuff has been working great too, since it has the pumice stone particles that takes everything off, plus it smells great...

Doesn't latex react with diesel and melt or something? I would advise toward Nitrile.
