egr and avr plugging vac lines

on my 85 300d and 87 sdl i plan to plug vac lines going to egr and avr,is their a benefit to removingthem and useing blocking plates rather than just vac lines being plugged.?

Functionally, you can do it either way............the blocking plates only serve to give a cleaner underhood environment.
