The manual in my late W126 shows a W124 wagon all painted up

IIRC that paint scheme was the inspiration for the TD that Dee8go has now.

Alfie had the HD setup and the 15" steelies.

On top of the ABS, airbag and of course, European version of the estate.

So, thought I would bring this thread back up. I purchased a california emissions 300td that I drove back to MD. I pulled the antenna and noticed a white vinyl underneath the gasket. It had me wonder if this car used to be a roadside assistance vehicle, as it is the right color blue.

Did they paint the white above the trim, or use a vinyl wrap?

Did they have vinyl wrap in 1985?

Who the heck takes the SL out in those conditions?

I would suspect it was a wrap, might be the remnants of it. The probably would have done a wrap so they could remove it 3-5 years down the road to sell as a regular used model.

I don't think they had wrap back then. Probably white paint and decals.
