240 injectors on 300d turbo
I have a leaky injector on my 84 300d, i do have a box with some used and not rebuilt injectors, but they are from a previous 240d and a couple from my 83 300td turbo. Are 240d and 300 turbo injectors same?
Thanks |

I think that they have a different part #. Might be best to find a 300 turbo parts motor and change the whole set together.

Turbo and atomo engines have different pressures.
The pic is of a turbo, 135 bar, I forget what an atmo is, but it's lower. I would think you can use the proper shim and spring to make it 135 bar, they come apart.

w469?
ok so of the 9 i have 4 of them have a W on top and right below it they read 469.
of the 9, 4 of them have a large hole where as the rest have 3 little holes.i mean in the cavity in center that has the two little return nozzles by its side. |

It's more important to have a matching set of injectors.

the 135 almost looks like it reads 435 on mine, can i asume that a set of 5 that read 135 bar are from a 300d turbo?

The one in the pic has three holes, the 135 bar one I removed from my CD has one large hole, also 135 bar and KCA30S44, among other markings.
The biggest deal is to match bar pressures and have a good spray pattern, having them tested will provide you with the info you need.

is your cd a turbo car?
i have 4 with the large hole, i think those are from the 240d, anyway i do want to rebuild and match spray pattern eventually, right now im just trying to replace the leaky injectors in my car until i can get a set of monarks. |

Yes, european script is a bit different than what us Americans are used to, you'll note a long upward swoop on that 1, makes it look like a four, almost, put a magnifying glass on it, make sure it's clean too.

But the nozzles are the same, not the input from the fuel line.

Make sure where on the injector it's leaking.

the set of four that i have with the large hole which i suspect came from the 240 read KCA30SD27/4 823
115 bar im pretty sure these are from the 240d. from the set of 5 2 of them read KCA30S35/4 243 135 bar, and 3 of them read on rubber ring 88 002 017 01 21-reman for MB These with the ruber ring are the ones with a W AND 469 written on them. |

In order to turn the 115 bar Injectors into 135 bar Injectors you or someone else will need to use a Pop/Nozzle Tester to change the Shims/Spacers to up the pressure. To do the above you need to take apart the Injectors. When you do this you will desturb the precision surfaces that are the sealing area of the Injector and the precision surfaces should be lapped on a lapping plate so that when they are assembled they seal and do not leak. The KCA number may have no relvance at all to what application you can use the Injectors on with the exception that there are 2 styles of Injectors and the parts of the 2 styles cannot be mixed. Mercedes and Bosch use those rubber/plactic bands around their rebuilt Injectors so that they can grab and use any Injector Body (an Injector Body with any kCA number) the have to make any Injector that they want and it covers up the bar number so that the coustomer will not freak out. I think you need something to fill the hole you would be better of getting on 135 bar Injector from the Junk Yard and using that.

The 135 bar have the 3 little holes in them and the 115 bar have the single big hole.

I suspect that you need to look at the opposite end.
