Found 230e--snagged the Euro bumpers

Yup, found a 230e at the junkyard, and got the euro bumpers. the front bumper was excellent chrome, but the passenger side impact strip was cracked. the rubber trims on either side were pleasantly un-cracked, and the brackets that held them not rusted. sweet!

Rear bumper had a bit more pitting--i'll see if I can buff it out with my rotary buffing machine and some rouge. Couldn't get the rear bumper ends off though--the trunk was locked! the rubber on the trims was cracked, but i could of used the brackets that held them.

luckily, there was a mid-week special at this junkyard on bumper parts, so I got both bumpers and the front bumper ends for $50 including tax

can't wait to install the front to pull off the complete euro look

Awesome. I've been wanting to do this very thing as well...euro bumpers look sweet.

Nice work.

yeah, the only thing is, at the ends of the front bumper is a piece with a hook at the end. wonder if that piece attaches to a stock part that's on the body end, or did I need to pull that part off the car? totally didn't notice that when i was removing it.

also there was a thin but wide plastic piece in the middle of the bumper, right in front of the radiator--is this a part that's only used on euro bumpers, or on n-am ones as well? i snagged this part but may end up not needing it

I love the looks of the Euros, but the DOT ones offer the protection of 5 mph bumps.

There was the sebring post recently and those poor Euros didn't stand a chance.

If i was the only driver on the road I would wear Euros

I tried buffing one out. it is not chrome, it is solid metal of some kind that does not seem to react well to polishing. keeep this in mind when you figure your purchase price

I have a nice set of euro bumpers on my parts car and a decent set on another car.

What are they worth?

if they are the 3 piece metal versions you can sell them, but I stopped pulling the rubber sided ones because they dont sell often and when they do it is not enough to be worth the effort
