W210 ETS and Hazard light faults...

Now i've got this car running properly (1996 E300D) a couple more faults have shown themselves..

Upon turning off the engine, 'ETS EL. TRACTION SUPPORT' sometimes displays on the multi function display on the cluster. I haven't yet driven the car upto any speed, so can't comment on it it occurs then driving.
I have also witnessed 'BATTERY CHARGE' upon switching off the engine, but that was only once, and hasn't reoccured.

The second new fault is that the hazard lights don't work. The turn signals work, and the illumination on the hazard light switch goes off when the button is in the out position. The manual says that fuse 5 is for the turn signals, but I cant see the location of fuse 5 in the main fuse box (it was dark though). Would this fuse also power the hazard circuit?

Any ideas where to look would be appreciated.

check all of the fuses...there are three fuseboxes. One under the hood, one in the dash driver's side below the A-Pillar and one near the battery under the rear seat. Always check all fuses first.

Yep, you're right again!

In the daylight I easily found the location of fuse 5. It was missing along with fuse 7.

Hazard lights now work and the messages on the cluster also seem to have gone away!

I should know owning a W126 with those old type fuses.... Rule number 1 is to check those fuses!

Thanks

Gotta love those cheap, easy fixes.

Cheers!
