Vacuum question

My 240D developed enough of a vac leak that it stopped shutting off when you turn off the key.

Is there any problem, if I don't care about the functioning of my vacuum locks, to just disconnect that vacuum splitter pod-like thing near the firewall (which I think is the check valve for the door lock system), and just plug the vacuum line where it was connected in? When I plug it, the shutoff with the key works, and there is no change in anything else that I can tell.

None of the vacuum locks worked previously, and when the engine stopped shutting off, there was no other apparent NEW vacuum issues. I drive the car alone 95% of the time and don't need auto locks for the other doors.

Yeah, just that line that goes to the door lock system.

Door locks aren't critical to anything else in the car. Plug both yellow lines. Green is for the climate control.

Well, it seems like you have a vacuum leak in the door lock system. If you don't mind them not working (or if they already didn't work), you can cap them off. The door lock vacuum lines are the yellow and yellow w/gray stripe.

Yea, they haven't worked the entire time that I've had the car. I almost never have passengers in my car and occasionally opening a lock manually isn't a problem to me.

I would chase it down, but for the moment it isn't a real problem and I have plenty of other issues to chase down, car related and not
