Mercedes will replace the "football" trap oxidizer with a straight pipe and will install a new catalyst in the exhaust line under the car. They will replace any parts of the exhaust system that need replacement at the same time. If your turbo is damaged, they will replace it too. When I had my '87 done, they replaced the turbo and the entire exhaust system all the way back to the tailpipe and it was all free.
