Help figure out Engine Number for part

Hi, I'm trying to price out a part and I see that there are 4 different choices for different Engine Numbers. The choices are

#1 - Engines:-10-086378
#2 - Engines:-12-027798
#3 - Engines:10-086379-
#4 - Engines:12-027799-

Or see this link

My engine number is 616912-10-271866. How do I pick the correct part? I'm confused.

Dont you know what kind of compressor you have on there? There are only three options, R4, Sanden, York.

The dashes are a bit confusing. It should read like this:

#1 - Engines: up to serial number 10-086378
#2 - Engines: up to serial number 12-027798
#3 - Engines: from serial number 10-086379
#4 - Engines: from serial number 12-027799

Your number is after 10-086379, so is option #3.

P.S. For the first two digits, 1 stands for left hand drive, 0 is for manual transmission, 2 is for automatic transmission.

I need some help with this too.

I have a 73 220d (egine 615.912) and have been looking for my engine serial #. I found a plate on the driver side rear of the engine just below the head.

I can't figure out how to decipher these #'s to get the right part of the 4 shown here

I don't know how to read the tag correctly, but I followed the links out for the tensioners and found that all have the same part numbers. So, at least for this part, it doesn't matter.

I to, am curious how this tag should read for when it does make a difference.
