Question More gauges...

Where have people put extra gauges? I need to put in two more. My ashtray cover is already in use.

Pics greatly appreciated.

On top of the dash? Under the driver's kick panel?

Thanks,
dd

Tri-pod on top of the dash works for me. But, you have to cut a hole...

If you have a car with the temp senor, Maybe you can use the temp sensor hole? And relocated the temp sensor somewhere else.
I always thought it was the wrong placement anyways. It gets too much sun on top of the dash.

That would be possible. My dash is badly cracked so I didn't think much of making another cut.

I don't know where the best spot would be. Maybe on the carpeted center console kick panel?

What would the gauges on top of the dash look like, anyone have a pic?

I ideally need two more.

Are gauge pods sold for this purpose that will sit on top of a dash?

Yes it sits on top of the dash. Here are some cheapies...

There are similar units out there that may fit the dash better.

I have a VDO gauge in there now this was taken a couple years ago....this is in my 1999 E300.....I purchased another a pillar from the dealer and had an upholstery shop wrap the gauge pod with the headliner material. I have COMAND so there is really no place to put gauges but right there. A user on here had a pretty cool din sized gauge pod that fit into a radio cubby hole....

Accessory Guage Panel Installed in W210 E300 Turbodiesel!

Very clean install!

Boost & Turbo Boost? Twin turbos?

I have a small panel in place of the ash tray in my W126 with a Voltmeter, 12V outlet, and Boost gauge. Works great.

Soon I am adding a simple panel with a Voltmeter and 12V outlet to my 300E.

*flame suit on*

this is for my 85 300D.

id like one one as an addition to my Frybrid kit for WVO injection temp. id really like to keep an eye on it and make sure it's 180+F, especially during the winter here. a second for fuel system vacuum like you have would be nice, but not a requirement by any means.

sweet, sweet job on that mod by the way. I'd personally like to keep my tach. i guess I could replace my current temp / oil pressure / fuel level pod with a gasser one that includes vacuum (that still leaves me needing a gauge spot...).

If could reconfigure my ashtray which currently has the fuel level gauge in the center and a cig lighter on the right side. That probably will be the most 'practical' option without having to hack or add much more than I already have.
