anyone plougged their last injector with viton?
 

I just did all viton injector return lines on my engine, now im down to the last injector, the little plug, but the viton hose being softer i wander if theres a secret on how to plug it so it will stay? maybe a small clamp?
Anyone tried this?

There is a metal plug that should go into the hose.

Yes on the mervedes benz hose it is firm and the plug holds up well, but this stuff its so flexible.
Is there a small hose clamp that would clamp a return line?

Sorry, I misread your first post.

If it says on the injector, the plug should be no problem. The plug is the insert used in the injector minus being hollow.

A small ziptie would work very well if you're that worried about it.

I have Viton on all three cars including the final plug and there's been no sign of the plug working loose. However, I don't recall (during installation) the Viton being "softer." Are you sure you bought real Viton? What was your source and all that?

Viton can stand up to bio diesel, whereas rubber does not, over the long haul.

I took the metal plug and put it in the viton hose last year. Seems to be holding up.

Where is a good place to buy bulk viton line the right ID for the return circuit? Also, to run bio effectively, is the only modification one needs to do is to use viton return lines? What about the metal lines running the length of the car underneath, are they compatable with b100?

What other plastics are biodiesel resistant?

I've found some other fluoropolymers that are in roughly the same size. Mainly FEP and PFA (seem to have appropriate teflon-like chemical resistance and they're rated at high temperatures)

One is FEP with a 3.2mm ID and two different ODs, 4.8mm and 6.4mm. The max working pressures at 70F are 289 PSI and 450 PSI (which seems to be overkill). Anyone know the reasons for recommending the thicker wall tubing? 289 PSI is overkill, and the price difference between the two wall thicknesses is very large (for 25ft - $25 versus $73).

$1 a foot doesn't seem to be too bad of a deal...

I am using stock plug with the viton now but it seems a little flimsy, but then again it is flimsy even on rubber hose. If a little old on the last injectors the plug moves when touched and fuel can spray.

use a screw that has a slightly larger diameter than the inside of the hose.

there are two rubber lines from the fuel tank to the hardline underneath the car that need replaced. there are also two rubber lines under the hood. One that feeds the IP and the return hose from the secondary fuel filter. word of caution after replacing these lines replace your filters. (i speak from experiance:eek:)
