96 E300 Fuel Leak
Hi everyone, Two of the clear plastic fuel going to the IP has a leak. I'm planning to replace it all, the car is a 96 E300. What brand is a good kind and where can I buy it? Is it easy to pull out these hoses, and do I have to pull out the intake minifold or just the windshield washer tank? Thanks in advance!

The preformmed plastic fuel lines and attachement clips come from the dealer.
The white horseshoe clips are spreaders used to release the fuel line for removal. Push them in tightly (eg: make a ringer), then remove. When new lines are installed the clips should be loose and floppy. As far as what has to be removed it will depend entirely on you. I can move the windsheild washer bottle and get all of them on and off in 10 minutes or so. Others find it easier to remove the IM.

I have been messing around with these lines on my '95 recently, so I'll chime in. I removed the intake manifold to get to the lines, but I had to because I broke off the platic connector end of one of them in the prefilter housing - so I needed a better angle to get that piece out. I have a replacment coming in today, although, I did manage to JB weld the broken connector back together for the time being so that I can get around until the new one arrives. I have a mystery leak, that I thought might be coming from these lines. I replaced the o-rings and reinstalled but the leak persists. One thing I did find was that with the new o-rings on, it was pretty hard to get the connectors to snap back in . Maybe I don't have the right size o-rings. What I did was to take a wooden dowel rod, which I placed on top of the connector and then tapped it down with a rubber mallet. Maybe a little risky, but it worked for me to get them seated properly. Also, watch out - I broke two brittle vacuum lines while I was in there that I had to fix when I was done.
